Thanks and welcome!

Thanks to Alyson Stanfield at the wonderful artbizblog for mentioning this blog twice recently!

And Joanne Mattera mentioned my work at Ernden Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts recently. Thanks, Joanne. I'm proud to be included in your "Wax Walk!"

Welcome to those of you who found your way here through Alyson or Joanne.

If you're here for the first time, check out the list on the right of "Helpful Posts." You'll find information on writing an artist's statement, putting together a proposal, designing a postcard, and many other things that artists often struggle with when starting out.

Please leave a comment. I love hearing from artists and the comments are often how I find new, interesting blogs to read.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Deanna, I did come over here from Alyson's blog. I love how she supports her clients. I haven't had time to look here much yet, but I will be back for sure. I can see you are writing about the business of art. Im going through the learning curve myself. Hope you come by and say howdie!

Hi Deanna, this is my second stop since finding you through Alyson. I am really hoping to see a "how artists choose galleries" post, as a follow up to your other one. (this is only partly tongue-in-cheek!)
Good luck, nice blog!

Hi Deanna,

I came across your blog this morning, and I think I'll be back.

I've recently started a blog, artdabble.blogspot.com, which is my journal about starting up a gallery of my own.

I have a lot to learn, and your art business posts are really helpful.
There are so many great resources on your site.

Thanks, Ben

It can be challenging to operate a gallery and studio. We have had a pottery studio and gallery for 18 years. We have the hearts of artists; and have had to learn the business side of things.

I have visited your site several times and love it. I cannot seem to get enough of the type of information you provide in your "Helpful Posts". I'm so glad that artists like you are willing to share what you have learned.
