I Don't Really Want to Be an Expert on This...

I was recently interviewed for American Artist Magazine for an article about rejection.

I just got around to reading the rejection article (had I known it was at the back of the magazine, I would have begun reading there!). Timely is the word that comes to mind. I received my first rejection letter a few weeks ago, although the gallery did accept 2 of my 5 entries. After a myriad of emotions, I realized that, hey, 40% ain't bad for my first time out! I did take exception to the comment the owner made about the rejected 3 pieces: "These 3 aren't quite wonderful." Can anyone tell me just how I'm supposed to interpret that? Not too helpful.
